Jill Jackson has been an Optician in this office for the past 15 years. She says that her favorite part of her job is working with patients because it’s exciting when someone appreciates what you do to help them to see better.


Jill lives in McPherson with her husband, Jesse, and two wonderful boys named Logan and Owen. She also has four step children.

Karen Anderson will help you with your insurance and billing. She's been at this office for the past ten years and says that what she loves most about her job is helping patients and trying to make their lives a little easier.


Karen lives in McPherson with her husband, Andy, and their dog, Buddy. She has two sons and six grandsons. She likes to spend her free time tending to her garden or in the kitchen, baking.

Dr. Phil Walters is a native of southeast Kansas and a graduate of Pittsburg State University.  He completed his Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Missouri in St. Louis. Dr. Walters has been practicing in McPherson since 2010. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Kansas Optometric Association, the McPherson Chamber of Commerce, YPMac (Young Professionals Organization), and the McPherson Optimist club.


In addition to prescribing glasses and contact lenses, Dr. Walters manages many eye conditions, including red eyes, dry eyes, eye allergies, eye infections, glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, diabetic eye disease, and many others. All comprehensive eye examinations follow a model of preventive care, monitoring for risk factors relating to sight-threatening disease.


Phil and his wife Katie have a daughter, Emory. Outside of work, Phil enjoys spending time with family and friends. His hobbies include playing guitar, golf and following his favorite sports teams

About Walters Optometry

Kelly Alexander has worked at the reception desk since early 2012. She seems to always be in a good mood and is happy to help in any way that she can. Kelly's favorite part of her job is getting to visit with patients.


Kelly and her husband, Daril, have a farm just outside of town. Together, they have four children and nine grandchildren. Kelly likes to spend her free time doing yard work and reading.

Libby Parker has been an Optometric Technician at Walters Optometry since May of 2012. She is also in charge of our marketing and social media. Her favorite part of the job is the opportunity to constantly learn new things.


Libby lives in McPherson with her cat, Kiki. She uses her free time to cook, write, and spend time on patios with her friends.
